Columbus reported to his king and queen that the world was round, and he went down in history as the man who first made this discovery. I returned home and shared my discovery only with my wife, and only in a whisper: “Honey”, I confided, “I think the world is flat” – Extract from the book: The World Is Flat 3.0 – Friedman, 2007

In a globalized world, where technology in hand with communication and fast transportation reduces geographic distances, products can be at few days far distant from potential markets and customer relationship is almost in real-time. But it’s not an easy and smooth path, there are several obstacles to cross. Psychic and cultural distances, institutional limitation, foreign consumer behaviors, political/economic uncertainties, and information asymmetries.

“The performance of international trade during the past five years has been at odds not only with the previous trend but also with the overall economic environment. While international trade growth outperformed economic growth during most of the past three decades.” – Unctad Report A/73/208 – August 2018
